LEVITTOWN PA – Neshaminy Federation of Teachers announced the endorsement of Mike Ksiazek for Middletown Township Supervisor. “Endorsing Mike Ksiazek means our educators who live and work in the Neshaminy School District community are ready for a strong voice at the township level. Mike believes in our public schools and preserving open spaces for future generations to enjoy. His fiscally responsible approach to taxes and spending will go a long way to help working families make Middletown a place to call home,” NFT President Tara Huber said.
Ksiazek, a graduate of Council Rock and father of three proudly states, “It’s not by accident that we live in Middletown. When it came time to decide where we would raise our family, it was an easy decision. Bucks County is a great place to get an education and grow up.”
A community focused individual, Ksiazek serves on the board of the Sunshine Foundation, has worked with Safe Kids Bucks County and End Distracted Driving, and has coached youth baseball and soccer. Additionally, he was nominated as an Emerging Leader in Bucks and Montgomery Counties by the Courier Times for his innovative leadership skills in business and in the local community.
As a locally-based lawyer from Langhorne, he is prepared to use his professional skills to preserve local control and spending while ensuring that schools, parks and other programs important to the community are preserved. He will also work to safeguard the limited open space we have in Middletown Township. Finally, he has a plan to alleviate some of the tax burden created by the recent Earned Income Tax increases by lowering property taxes.
Ksiazek’s life experiences as the son of a music teacher and a brother of a professor have led him to be a strong proponent of public education. As such, he is firm in his belief that charter schools should not divert resources from public schools and that they should be both transparent and accountable.
“Middletown is a great place to live, work and raise a family,” Ksiazek asserts, “but it could be and should be so much better. It's time for a change in Middletown."
In 2015, the NFT endorsed winning candidates Amy Strouse and Tom Tosti who have been tireless advocates for Neshaminy School District students, educators and community members.
