LEVITTOWN, PA (APRIL 17, 2015) - The Neshaminy Federation of Teachers (NFT) announced today its endorsement of Amy Strouse and Tom Tosti for Middletown Township Supervisor.
NFT President Tara Huber said, “Our members are proud to enthusiastically endorse Amy Strouse. Amy is a strong voice for parents, teachers and students across the community who so desperately need a fighter in their corner. No one knows better than Amy what challenges young families face, and she is ready to take them on.
“As a businesswoman and mother of two from Langhorne, Amy is prepared to use her professional skills to balance the town’s financial books while ensuring that schools, parks and other programs important to the community are preserved,” Huber said. “Amy brings a solid professional background to the table and intends to use her skills and training to perform a full review of the township’s expenditures and programs and ensure that funds are being well-managed.
“While working on local campaigns in 2013 and 2014, Huber continued, “Strouse learned firsthand the impact that municipal leaders have on the daily lives of young families in the community. She knows we can do better for our kids and their future, and she is ready to fight on their behalf.”
Huber also voiced the local union’s strong support for Tom Tosti saying, “Tom is already a well-respected leader in our community. His track record is clear – he stands with teachers, their students and the community we all love. Tom’s experience is unparalleled and will be an asset as he works with both parties to overcome today’s challenges with inclusive, community-driven solutions.”
Tosti currently serves as the Director of AFSCME District Council 88, President of the Bucks County Central Labor Council, Trustee on the AFSCME Health and Welfare Fund, and Board member of the Bucks County Association for Retired and Senior Citizens.
“Tom’s desire to serve in public office is rooted in his election experience,” Huber noted. “Having worked on campaigns from the federal to the local level. Tom is familiar with the challenges ahead, and he is ready to work with members of both parties to facilitate meaningful change.
“The Neshaminy Federation of Teachers is proud to endorse both of these candidates,” NFT President Tara Huber said. “It is our hope that the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors and Neshaminy School District can collaboratively work to benefit the Neshaminy community.”
